After tweeting about my Amish outfit at work (keeping the creative tech team looking fresh as always) I found myself blogged about as a Chloe Sevigney lookalike. Much more fittingly, I ended up being critiqued on Amish or Hipster?

Chad Valley
Since I have been back in Oxford, I have been helping my boyfriend Hugo Manuel promote his new solo project Chad Valley. With wide-spread hype already accumulating from the likes of Pitchfork, The Guardian and Vice it looks like exciting times ahead. I have edited a set of visuals which play with the notion of being above and below water and are prejected behind Hugo on stage. You can see edited versions here:

W+K Platform Entry
The brief was to make a short film answering the following questions. Who are you? What inspires you? What are your obsessions in life? What is your greatest regret? What your guilty pleasure? ‘I have answered the questions using songs by Joni Mitchell. She a huge influence on me and I liked the idea of turning this around and using her lyrics to express myself.

We Have Band Music Video

‘It took three days and over 6,000 frames of footage for David to animate his beautiful facepaint designs on the band, relying on their infinite, good-natured patience – they basically had to lie still for three days. Plus he had the help of highly regarded mother-and-daughter animation team Joanna and Katie Anne Harrison.’

Creative Review
I was selected by Creative Review in The Crop of Graduates 2008.
“This slightly disturbing portrait of Amy Winehouse is part of a series by Harrison on female celebrity (other portraits included Britney Spears, below left, and Jordan). “I had become so frustrated with the pointless glamorisation of these women, I wanted to show the destruction that they were actually facing within their own lives,” she says. “As I researched them I began to sympathise with them. [The image asks] is this what we have done to her and how much do we really care? “I had originally projected them as 20 foot drawings,” she explains, “but I ended up painting them in an effort to make something more grotesque. This was inspired by my tutor, Andrew Hall, who told me to ‘Do something really weird at university before you become constrained by the commercial world.”
